Get your creativity back with our sketchbook art workshops

I want to create making image

Starts Monday 24th February at 6:30 pm for six weeks

Do you want to create stuff but don’t get the chance? Did you used to paint, draw or be involved in some other kind of craft activity? Did you lose the habit because you just don’t have the time?

We have busy lives and our creative urges can get lost somewhere between filing last year’s accounts and cleaning the kitchen floor.

Now it’s time to think about you for a change and do something for yourself.

Art, crafting, creating and making is good for the soul and makes you feel great. We like that kind of thing at Greenslate because we want to make the world a better place. So, when Jenny Wilson of Jenny @ Artreach and Lynne Robinson offered to run some courses at the farm, we thought it was a great idea.

Jenny Wilson and her collaborative partner Lynne Robinson will be running a six week arts course starting on Monday 24th of February, right here in the Straw Bale Cafe. You will get tea and coffee, and can even sample some of our legendary home made cakes.

Course details

A short ( six week ) course in drawing, painting, printing and working with mixed media.

You will produce tryouts, experiment, annotate, and collage your artistic journey in the form of a mixed media sketchbook. Whether you have studied Art in the past and wish to keep it up and/or revisit your practice, or you are a beginner who would like to make time to be creative and learn new skills; this course is designed with short achievable outcomes that will culminate in your own personalised sketchbook.

We will introduce you to the work of key artists and provide pointers for your own areas of interest/future projects that may run beyond the course.

All materials will be provided and there will be an option to buy additional quality art materials at competitive prices for your own use beyond the course. With two course leaders you will have plenty of support on hand.

The outcome of all your musings, experiments and try outs will be your own personalised sketchbook.
