I have been involved in Greenslate Community Farm since the beginning as a member of the Billinge and Orrell Transition Group and have been hooked on the project ever since.

I have always had a passion for sustainable farming and conservation from an early age and was awarded a scholarship to study Ecology and conservation practices at the Imperial College in London and am currently studying Ecology further at Edge Hill University. I have also gained practical farming experience through my time working with the charity World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) where I worked on both arable and livestock farms.

I have also been a volunteer at LuckyHens Rescue since opening in 2011, rehoming ex-battery and rescued hens and promoting free-range farming practices.

I currently take an active role in Greenslate Community Farm looking after the livestock and small animals at Greenslate, generating publicity by maintaining the farms Facebook Page, organising and promoting community events and creating and delivering educational activities for visiting schools and kids clubs to engage the younger members of the community.

I have enjoyed my role as a board member in previous years and feel that my passion and commitment has grown stronger as the project has developed.

I have previously helped on the board when they were getting started and I had to stand down due to responsibilities with my family, theses have now alleviated themselves somewhat so I have some extra time that I would now like to devote to the farm.  I have a pragmatic and common sense view of the world and enjoy problem solving, listening to all sides of an argument before coming to a conclusion.

As a member of the local community I want to see Greenslate farm prosper as I believe it is an integral part of the community bringing people together through the season events and its day to day business.  I want to be able to help this continue to succeed well into the future

I have served on the Allotment group in various roles over the past few years and can help as a conduit for communication between the board and the allotment group.
