Our Greenslate Asparagus has started to poke it’s head out of the ground, and if you know anything about asparagus, you will appreciated that for the first couple of years we couldn’t eat any. It was frustrating, but you have to let the crop grow on for a few years before you can start harvesting, in order that the root crown can build up its strength to get the plant fully established.
Some people bought shares in the Greenslate asparagus when it was first planted. If you are one of those lucky few, now is the time to recoup your investment. Just get in touch with Roger Buckner and make sure you get your share. The asparagus season is only a few weeks long and when its gone, its gone.
